Lab Technician

Job Overview:
**Duties include but not limited to**:
Conduct experiments to recover metals from alloys using various chemical and metallurgical processes.

Develop and optimize metal recovery methods to improve efficiency and yield.

Perform chemical and physical analyses of alloys to determine metal composition and properties.

Troubleshoot and solve complex problems related to metal recovery processes.

Collaborate with research teams to design experiments and develop new metal recovery technologies.

Maintain accurate records of experiments, procedures, and results.

Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations in the laboratory.

Stay updated with advancements in metal recovery techniques and technologies.

Conduct quality control checks on samples to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Provide technical support and guidance to other team members as needed.

Analyse samples using scientific methods and equipment.

Utilise laboratory information management systems to record and track sample data.

Perform mathematical calculations to interpret data accurately.

Collaborate with the research team to support ongoing projects.

**Requirements**:
Proven experience in metal recovery from alloys, preferably in an industrial or research setting.
- Strong understanding of chemical principles and metallurgical processes.
- Proficiency in analytical techniques such as spectroscopy, chromatography, and microscopy.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to overcome challenges.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly.
- Prior experience with laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
- Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations in a laboratory setting.

**Qualification**:
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Metallurgy, Materials Science, or a related field. Master's degree preferred with at least 3 years’ experience.
