Position Title**:Head of Own Retail**
Area: Capetown / JHB
Role Description and Duties:
- Domestic Sales: Improve consumer experience in Own Retail, layouts perfect, window displays visible and activated
- Responsible for delivering, excellent customer experience and operational efficiency in the Menlyn Maine, Bryanston, 117 On Strand, Cape Town, B-Stock and Future points including the delivery of an annual sales budget. This would include increasing the number of feet in the Client Centres.
- To deliver a ‘best in class’s consumer sales and Client brand experience through the Client Centres that will ensure that Client is the brand of choice for all consumers visiting.
- To be responsible for all operational tasks in the running of the Client Centres, ensuring that they are performed effectively and in a timely and efficient manner and delivered to a high standard always ensuring a premium experience for both internal and external customers.
- To own and deliver a sales budget, ensuring that plans for delivery of sales, NPS, margin and category mix are in place and executed by the team.
- To manage and develop the Client Centres team, ensuring that succession plans are created.
- To manage Client’s direct sales channel to achieve annual budgets and KPIs.
- To work closely with marketing and the Commercial Director to make sure marketing plans are in place to deliver the annual budget and the longer-term vision.
- To ensure that the organisation is consumer-centric in its approach to retail sales and to set standards in line with the premium positioning of the brand.
- To lead the Client direct sales teams ensuring operationally efficient processes are put in place to enable achievement of Client’s direct sales targets.
- To create and deliver a plan that delivers long term growth with a target of doubling direct sales.
- Be aware of the existing retail dynamics and the sensitivities around our current retail partners and work closely with the Brand Activation Manager and Commercial Director to manage communication.
- Work with the individual direct sales teams to ensure that teams can deliver a superb retail experience.
- To ensure merchandising standards are in line with guidelines
How this role will add value to the business and its customers
- To grow sales of Client appliances and accessories with new and existing owners which in turn will increase profitability.
- It forges the link between dealers, consumers, and Client, by giving opportunities to close the Client sale whether directly or through dealers.
- To maintain a relationship with existing consumers or re-engage existing consumers back to the brand.
- It will ensure that we deliver a premium sales experience to Client consumers, both existing and prospective, that will deliver lifetime loyalty and brand recommendation.
- Improve standards for customer experience. Streamline and simplify processes to reduce errors and complaints. Create efficiencies for all internal customers saving time and money where possible
The deliverables and results for which this person is ultimately responsible
- Set and plan Client’s retail sales annual budget in conjunction with the Commercial Director and Category Managers.
- Work with Category Managers to create marketing and promotional calendars for the retail sales channels.
- Work with the managers and team leaders of the different retail sales channels to ensure that they implement activity plans in a timely manner.
- Work with the Supply Chain Manager to ensure that delivery services are optimised around the retail sales proposition.
- Ensure retail sales footprints conform to Client retail guidelines and are measured regularly.
- Ensure that the retail sales teams are focussed on improving our capability to deliver sales to consumers, exploring new opportunities i.e., installation, new retail premises as appropriate.
- Work with Brand Activation Manager to ensure plans are in place to increase footfall to our showrooms and outlets.
- Work with salespersons and team leaders or managers to improve conversion rates on an ongoing basis.
- Work with the Brand Activation Manager to ensure that growth targets for Client are being achieved through increased (relevant) site visitors and improved conversion rates
Commercial
- To develop and implement a sales strategy to deliver and exceed annual budgets for sales, units, transaction value, conversion rate and margin.
- Reporting on the performance of the retail store and whether it is reaching financial goals with action plans for growth.
- To report all visitor activities for the Client Centres monthly to relevant departments and develop & implement a strategy to grow footfall through activation.
- To work within annual budgets - ensuring that running costs are controlled but also ensuring that a ‘best in class’ experience is had by all who use the store.

- Deliver a best-in-class premium brand experience for all visitors to the store.
