**Nursing Manager (Deputy) - Theatre**

**Location **: Trichardt | South Africa

**THE ROLE**

To support the Nursing Manager in leading and co-ordinating safe, quality patient care.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS**
- Support the Nursing Manager to achieve quality patient care in line with the hospital operational goals and objectives
- Manage patient risks to achieve patient safety in line with specified clinical outcomes
- Ensure a positive patient experience in line with corporate benchmarks
- Ensure optimal utilisation of a competent and engaged workforce and other resources in line with the relevant company guidelines
- Establish and manage key stakeholder relationships to achieve integrated patient care and positive clinical outcomes

**REQUIRED EDUCATION**

Degree/diploma in nursing, Appropriate leadership/management qualification

Discipline-specific qualification, e.g. Critical Care Nursing Diploma

5 years experience in a supervisory position, e.g. Unit Manager

**MINIMUM EXPERIENCE**:
2 - 3 years experience in a supervisory position within a specialised unit

**REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE**
- Infection prevention and control (IPC) principles and protocols
- Knowledge of continuous improvement and quality assurance methodologies
- Productivity management in nursing
- Clinical risk management
- Healthcare industry
- Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
- Financial management
- Nursing functional knowledge
- Relevant nursing legislation
- Knowledge and experience in auditing and accreditation processes
- Patient complaint management
- Human resource processes including employee relations
