The IIE’s Central Academic Team (CAT) is the custodian of academic quality, educational technology, and governance across the institution. It leads academic strategy, compliance, and operational integrity through robust governance structures.

The current CAT is in the process of being repositioned as a Centre of Excellence, a hub for academic innovation, staff capacity building, quality assurance, and governance across both the schools and tertiary divisions.

**The purpose of the job**:
This role is responsible for supporting evidence-based decision-making through the collection, analysis, and reporting of institutional data. The role focuses on developing analytical tools, conducting institutional research studies, and creating accessible insights through data visualisations, contributing directly to strategic planning, academic performance monitoring, and student success initiatives.

**Main Outputs and Responsibilities for this Position**:
Research Data Systems and Reporting
- Develop, test, and maintain systems for data collection and research reporting
- Extract data from institutional databases and validate for quality assurance
- Create standardised and ad hoc data sets to meet research and compliance needs
- Support the automation of recurring reports using analytical tools
- Contribute to institutional KPIs and metric tracking systems

Survey Design and Management
- Design and administer surveys for students, staff, alumni, and other stakeholders as required
- Coordinate with departments to ensure high-quality response rates
- Analyse survey data and extract actionable insights
- Support longitudinal survey tracking for student experience and success
- Benchmark survey responses with external studies or sector trends

Research Analysis and Insight Generation
- Conduct statistical and qualitative analyses on topics such as:
Enrolment and retention patterns
Academic performance and graduation rates
Staff workload analysis
- Use data modelling and visualisation to support institutional planning
- Write concise narratives to accompany data reports

Infographic and Report Development
- Produce accessible and visually engaging reports for internal stakeholders
- Build dashboards and presentations for management teams
- Tailor reports for academic, student services, and operational units
- Support data storytelling to build shared institutional understanding

External Data and Benchmarking
- Collect and analyse data from public and private education sources
- Identify trends from peer institutions and national datasets
- Integrate benchmarking data with internal research outputs
- Support strategic comparisons and planning exercises

**Qualification**
- Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Data Analytics, or similar

**Experience**:

- Minimum of 3 years in a Data Analyst/Research Assistant
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Higher Education
