MS POWER BI PROGRAMMER / DATA SCIENTIST
(Cape Town)

JOB OVERVIEW:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Data extraction and transformation o Extract and integrate data from various sources, including databases, spreadsheets, APIs, and more. o Transform and clean raw data into a usable format for analysis and reporting.

2. Dashboard and report development o Create visually appealing and interactive dashboards and reports using MS Power BI. o Customise and maintain existing dashboards to ensure accuracy and relevance.

3. Data visualisation o Design and implement effective data visualisations to communicate complex data in a clear and concise manner. o Choose appropriate chart types and visuals for different types of data.

4. Collaboration o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and provide data-driven solutions.

5. Data security and compliance o Ensure data security and compliance with data protection regulations in all aspects of data handling and reporting.

6. Continuous learning o Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in MS Power BI, data science, and data analytics tools and techniques.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in data analysis, data visualisation, and dashboard development using MS Power BI.
- Strong programming skills, particularly in languages such as SQL, Python, or R.
- Proficiency in data manipulation.
- Solid understanding of statistical concepts and techniques.
- Excelled communication and presentation skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Experience with other data visualisation tools and BI platforms is advantageous.
- Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL processes are preferred.
- Certificate in MS Power BI is advantageous.
