Environmental Services Manager

**Purpose of the Job**:
To execute and support the HSE strategies, policies, rules and standards through influencing and collaborating with the EIH tenants so as to drive safety and environmental compliance and drive aware awareness to achieve sustainable results.

**What you’ll have done before**:

- Baseline:
- NQF Level 7 (Degree in Chemical/ Environmental Science)
- 6 years technical experience in HSEQ, Safety or Environment
- Knowledgeable of PTS requirements related to HSE

Advantageous:
- ISO14001/ 9001/ 45001 Certification
- Production support experience in HSE

**What you’ll be doing**:

- LEGAL COMPLIANCE:
- Ensure the EIH site meets all local/ national regulatory requirements implementing relevant procedures and policies if required
- Identify and report on non-compliance and take remedial action with non-conformance reports submitted
- Ensure compliance with ROD conditions and assess need for EIAs with all new projects
- Ensure management of the site’s environmental management system
- RISK & INCIDENT MANAGEMENT:
- Develop and implement a documented HSE improvement plan for the EIH site to ensure achievement of Engen HSE targets and goals and continuously improve HSE performance
- Collaborate with Corporate HSE and EIH s to ensure effective stakeholders to ensure management of occupational health and safety, process safety and environmental risks
- Ensure all HSE incidents are reported and investigated to identify root cause and prevent recurrence, sharing learnings across the group where appropriate
- Provide regular performance reports to demonstrate conformance with group requirements and achievement of KPIs
- HSE ASSURANCE & REPORTING:
- Develop and deploy internal HSE auditing and inspection systems and participate in audits of EIH tenants as required
- Monitor environmental indicators used for daily operational activities and intervene when required
- Monitor environmental outputs from the site to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements including all point and fugitive discharges to air, water, land
- Embed an effective HSE reporting process in line with ENGEN requirements
- Drive environmental improvement activities to reduce the sites environmental impact to air, water and land and achievement of all corporate commitments

CUSTOMER SUPPORT & ENGAGEMENT:

- Act as site liaison with EIH tenants on HSE related matters and to ensure tenants are in possession of necessary Safety and Environmental authorisations
- Promote open communication on all HSE issues through effective HSE Committees
- Serve as the focal person for communication between EIH and ENGEN on matters relating to Environmental and Safety
