Head of Data Architecture and Data Governance

**Head of Data Architecture and Data Governance (high profile position)**:
**Role profile**:
The role is a Group level role. The incumbent will be part of the Group Services cluster and report to the Head of Data, Analytics and Digital. Main purpose of the role is to lead, drive and mature both the Data Architecture practice as well as the Data Governance practice across all relevant Hollard entities.

**Main responsibilities**:
The incumbent will be responsible to
- Build, adapt and maintain a single organisation-wide data architecture that meets the evolving business needs across the Group
- Produce conceptual, logical and physical data architecture designs as part of the Group Architecture practice
- Deliver Group Architecture artefacts and content for the Data domain, e.g. the data architecture strategy, reference architectures, data principles, data landscapes, data dictionaries, data frameworks and roadmaps and be the custodian of the Group Data Management framework
- Work with our business entities to develop business requirements and translate into solution level architectures
- Maintain, enhance and implement the Group Data Governance and Data Management framework across all business entities. As part of this develop, maintain and enforce relevant Data policies and standards as well as Data Governance processes and controls.
- Develop and implement strategies and processes related to Data Quality Management across the data lifecycle, from data blueprinting principles through acquisition (and influencing upstream source design and processes), warehousing to reporting and analytics solutions.
- Research and understand external factors such as strategy direction, business drivers, emerging technologies, compliance and regulatory laws and their impact on the Group Data platform and Group Data Management practices. Translate these into meaningful Data Architecture solutions and Data Governance and Management principles and solutions.
- Manage and optimise the Groups data platform in collaboration with Group IT. Develop and implement best practices and operating principles across the Group
- Lead and guide the journey to Azure Cloud for the different business entities
- Lead and mentor members of the Data and Architecture communities in order to build deeper understanding and expertise around Data Architecture and Data Governance

**Organisation structure**:
The role reports into the Head of Data, Analytics and Digital. Data Architects and Data Governance heads across the organisation will have a dotted reporting line into the role.

**Knowledge and experience required**:
**Education**:

- BSc/MSc in Engineering, Computer Science, Informatics or similar
- MBA or similar post-grad qualification beneficial Relevant job experience:

- 12+ years in Data Engineering, Data Modelling, Data Architecture and Data Management Knowledge and skills:

- Strong experience in end-to-end Data/Analytics value chain from data acquisition, ingestion, integration, transformation to visualisation and machine learning
- Deep and wide background in data technologies spanning both solutions built on traditional and non-traditional platforms. Experience building highly scalable and secured solutions
- Experience in Data warehouse and Data lake design
- Deep knowledge of the Microsoft Data platform. Experience in Azure Cloud
- Experience in all Data Management domains including Data Quality, Reference, Master, Metadata management
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and critical thinking abilities
- Excellent communication skills - verbally and in writing
- Strong leadership and influencing skills
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Comfortable interacting with and managing senior stakeholders from both business and technical backgrounds
