Supervise and oversee the production of machine shop manufactured items
- Supervise and oversee the maintenance and refurbishment of specialised machines or sub-assemblies
- Supervise and oversee the assembly of specialised machines (e.g. after an explosion)
- Supervise and oversee the control of materials and stock required for the manufacture of such machines and assemblies
- Manage the workload and resources of the workshop to maximise productivity
- Control costs by managing materials and consumables and by minimising waste and rework
- Supervise the flow of work for both emergency requests and scheduled work
- Proactively engage in people management and development, selecting, assigning and leading people
- Systematically evaluate and lead efforts to ensure internal customer satisfaction
- Support continual business improvement and change management
- Comply with governance and established policies, systems, procedures and practices
- Comply with Safety, Health and Environment standards

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Technical qualification N4 / S4 or equivalent
- 3 - 5 years machine shop experience in engineering
- 1 - 2 years supervisory experience will be an advantage
- Knowledge of the OHS Act and Explosive Act
- Knowledge of machine shops and related tasks, e.g. grinding, turning, milling and fitting
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Knowledge of SAP
