Treasury Analyst

What will you do?

Santam Ltd is looking for a passionate, proactive, and energetic individual for a position as Treasury Analyst available in the Group Treasury Front office team. We are seeking an experienced treasury professional, with a proven track record to join our growing team.

This role is responsible for working with the various businesses to identify exposures; market information and pricing advice to the Santam Group. The role reports to the Treasury Operations Manager.

To support the design and implementation of the financial analysis/reporting framework within the Treasury Management System
Provide input into the development and maintenance of the Treasury Operating Manual and Treasury Compliance dashboard incorporating all elements of the Treasury policy.
Perform daily Treasury Front office activities e.g. execute FX deals (i.e. Vanilla; swaps) and ST investments with various banking institutions
Processing month end cash pool journals and recons e.g. virtual funding accounts within the Group
Ad-hoc project management of Treasury automation & innovation initiatives
Monthly dashboard reporting and perform Treasury analytics using the TMS system for decision making and reporting
Daily cash management of the Group’s cash; cash pooling agreements; monitor exposure risks
Manage investments of Group ‘s surplus short-term cash
Overview of the Group’s daily Treasury Report, including calculating projected close of day positions for centrally controlled cash and foreign currency accounts
Liaise with various stakeholders within the Group for liquidity requirements and month end reporting Qualification and Experience

Minimum BCom / B Bus Science/ Finance degree
Post graduate degree in Finance (advantageous)
Professional Treasury certification (advantageous)
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Treasury operations function or Global Markets Banking environment
Working experience within Treasury Front operations with specific focus on bank relationship management, liquidity and FX exposure management (i.e. hedging and currency rate fluctuations)
Sound understanding and working knowledge of financial instruments; vanilla products; settlements processes Skills
