- The Associate Environmental Consultant will be responsible for the management and implementation of medium projects to large projects Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) projects in Africa. In fulfilling this responsibility, the Environmental Consultant will be responsible for liaising with clients, writing proposals, and undertaking ESIAs/ EIAs in accordance with the International Finance Corporation's (IFC) Performance Standards or local legislation as appropriate including managing specialists, reporting, stakeholder participation, and authority consultation. The person should also be able to undertake site audits as part of a due diligence process for projects across Africa.
- The Associate Environmental Consultant should demonstrate knowledge of project management (methodology, proposal/ report compilation, budget control, timely completing of project, write-offs presentation skills etc.), have the ability to network with clients, problem solve where appropriate, work as part of a team and independently.**Job Description**:

- 5 years’ plus experience in an environmental consultancy
- B.Sc. (Hons) or Master’s in environmental or Natural sciences or similar qualification
- Must be able to proactively manage South African mining EIA projects, liaise with clients, specialists and authorities, manage quality assurance/client feedback and ensure he/she meets budgetary, quality, safety and timeframe targets
- Must have a sound knowledge of environmental legislation and the EIA process
- Must be able to sustain client and stakeholder relationships
- Must be able to manage large mining EIA projects
- Must have worked on projects within South Africa
- Must be a strong team player.
- Must have a strong Mining background.

Key Responsibilities
- English speaking with excellent communication skills, additional languages will be advantageous
- Strong knowledge of project management (methodology, proposal/ report compilation, budget control, timely completion of projects, write-offs, presentation skills etc.)
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Understanding of multi-disciplinary issues of projects in many disciplines and sectors
- Valid driver’s license
