Group quality assurance manager

**Job Summary**: An employee who is able to fulfil the role of a group quality assurance manager who plays a crucial role in business by ensuring that products/services meet certain standards of quality. This employee must plan, direct or coordinate quality assurance programs and formulate quality control policies. They also work to improve an organization's efficiency and profitability by reducing waste. Alternative duties, assignments and projects may be afforded to the employee and the job profile may be amended from time to time as may be required by the company.

**Reporting To**: chief technical, projects and compliance director

**Responsibilities**:
Responsbile for the maintaining of all Quality ISO 9001:2015 and SACAA requirements for all companies in the group.
Ensure the Quality system is applied uniformly across the whole group.
Responsible for the preparation of annual and bi-monthly audit schedules for acceptance and approval by the chief projects, technical and compliance director.
Responsible for all quality audits as per the annual and bi monthly audit schedules as per the ISO 9001:2015 and SACAA requirements applicable to each company.
Responsible for all external audits performed by SACAS and SACAA on all companies within the group.
Ensure the compliance of companies with the respective QMS, AMO MOP’s, ATO TPM’s, AOC OM’s, CAR’s and general airworthiness requirements of specific business units.
Document and revise all processes and policies which are essential to quality assurance.
Reporting on quality audit findings at the bi-monthly Operational, Quality and Safety meetings as well as the Annual Quality review meetings held for each company.
Track and follow up on all audit findings to ensure proper closure and implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
To monitor the implementation of corrective and preventative actions for non-conformances identified in order to prevent the recurrence of such non-conformances; and laying down procedures for dealing with non-conformaities, monitoring non-conformity reports, ensuring that corrective and/or preventative actions are taken by the responsible department/appointee within an agreed schedule, and that adequate resources are allocated, as and where appropriate.
Ensure that all employees are introduced to and understand the quality requirements and processes applicable to their respective departments.
Select quality inspection tools and software to support the quality processes.
Promote a culture of quality by running awareness and award programs.
When new products or services are developed, quality must work with the respective departments to establish quality standards.
Responsible for all Supplier and Customer audits.
Develop and monitor continuous improvement programs, aiming to reduce the number of defects and improve levels of quality.

SA citizenship or SA permanent residency essential
Required to have completed an accredited course in Civil Aviation Regulations and Technical Standards
A minimum of five years’ experience in the aviation industry to include expertise in one of the following areas; aircraft operations, airworthiness of aircraft; aircraft accident and incident investigations; aircraft and aircraft products maintenance; or manufacturing or aircraft design.
A recognised certificate of competency in quality assurance system, issued by an approved ATO or any accredited institution.
A certificate in internal Auditing or Third party Auditing, issued by an approved ATO or any accredited institution.
Any aviation-related course whose contents include a comprehensive quality assurance system training and human factor course.
