**Busy 4* Hotel - Pietermaritzburg, Kwazulu-Natal**

**Requirements**:

- Grade 12 (essential)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Maintenance Manager in a similar hotel/resort (hospitality) environment (ESSENTIAL)
- Any Trade Qualifications (plumbing, construction, aircons, refrigeration) highly advantageous
- Excellent all-rounder (Electrical, Plumbing, Construction, Air-conditioning, landscaping, pools, pumps etc)
- Computer Literate
- MS Office Suite
- Detail oriented and organised to the highest degree
- with Strong Analytical & Problem Solving Skills
- Professional and presentable to guests
- Ensures that the room care programme is pre-planned, budgeted and managed.
- Ensures that the Cardex system of budget control is in place. - Experience in Simple budgets and forecasting
- Driver’s licence (essential)

**Description**
- Responsible for the overall supervision of Maintenance of the hotel, and all other facilities, including the upkeep of buildings, fixtures, furniture and equipment, landscaping and gardens, and recreational facilities.
- Hands on
- daily checks on gauges, meters, valves etc for any calibration issues
- Develop disaster protocol management programs and preventative measures and ensure regular inspection of firefighting equipment and ensure that utilities are safe and being used effectively
- Ensure that all quotes received from contractors and suppliers are reasonably priced in terms of fair market value comparisons.
- Monitors the level and quality of services performed by outside contractors in accordance with all lease agreements, service contracts and warranties.(SLA)
- Ensure effective stock control procedures and methods are being followed and that the maintenance expense budget is achieved.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with company standards.
- Ensure a comprehensive Preventative Maintenance Program for the hotel is implemented and that all essential equipment is serviced and maintained in a manner which prolongs the lifespan of all equipment.
- Communicates with management and provides feedback on any issues or routine maintenance that needs to be scheduled that would interfere with guest satisfaction
- Responsible for managing the maintenance according to relevant laws and procedures.
