Exciting opportunity for a Junior Merchandiser to join a leading Durban-based Supplier to the major SA fashion retail chains. (Durban, KZN)

**Key Functions and Duties**
- Working with Senior Merchandiser to set and cross check Monthly & Annual Targets & Budgets.
- Online research for Senior Merchandiser's buying trip.
- Assist Senior Merchandiser to prepare for range presentations, overseas travel, assorting samples.
- Trend presentation preparation & presenting to customer along with the Designers help.
- Driving sales for existing & new business.
- Attending buyers briefing meetings.
- Updates on existing core lines and new styles for testing.
- Sourcing new developments.
- Costing negotiations with customer & supplier.
- Executing sample make up with factory.
- Ensuring all approvals (lab dips, trims, etc) and samples (Fit, PPS, etc) are thoroughly checked and signed off before being submitted to buyers for approval.
- Working with coordinator and QA team to keep track of all orders and ensure on track deliveries.
- Communication between customer and suppliers on all matters relating to costing, design queries, approvals, production and delivery. Including management on any serious matters.
- Weekly meetings to go through orders, MST (milestone tracking), and any related issues.
- Comparison of customer figures TY vs LY.
- Sales analysis feedback & comp shop reporting and feedback.
- Weekly feedback meetings with management to update on current styles, pricing, new samples, deliveries and sales feedback.

**Required Experience / Skills / Abilities**
- 2-3 Years experience in a similar position within the fashion industry.
- Experience working with key retail chains and buyers.
- Experience working with Imports suppliers and dealing with China.
- Good understanding of the product development and retail chain process and leadtimes.
- A good eye for product and ability to understand buyers requirements.
- Ability to handle pressure and problem solve.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- PC literate and comfortable using systems and tracking/reporting tools.
- Energetic and driven, with a passion for fashion and retail.
