**Key Requirements**:

- Matric
- A Mixologist or Bartending qualification preferred.
- 3 - 5 years’ experience in a Barman capacity working in a 4 /5* star hotel environment
- Strong understanding of cocktails, spirits, wines, and beer.
- Ability to make classic and creative cocktails.
- Well-groomed and professional disposition
- Be well versed in the English language essential (additional languages are a plus).
- Friendly, approachable, and professional with a positive, friendly attitude and strong desire to provide excellent service.
- Ability to manage conflict and challenging situations with respect and confidence.
- Sound financial acumen.
- Ability to multitask and to work long hours on your feet within a fast paced pressurized environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and efficiency pertaining to area of responsibility.
- Flexibility to work on weekends, public holidays, evenings and as per operational requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Prepare and serve beverages: Mix, garnish, and serve a variety of cocktails, beers, wines, and non-alcoholic drinks in line with our high standards.
- Customer service excellence: Provide a warm and welcoming experience to guests, ensuring their satisfaction and comfort.
- Bar upkeep: Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar area. Ensure all equipment is in good working order.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with other staff to ensure smooth operations and a positive guest experience.
- Cash handling: Process payments and maintain accuracy in billing.
- Create innovative cocktails: Craft both classic and signature cocktails to the highest standard, showcasing your knowledge and creativity.
- Engage with guests: Provide a personalized service, interact with guests, and share your passion for mixology and craft while ensuring a memorable experience.
- Maintain bar operations: Maintain the bar’s stock and ensure the bar is fully equipped and ready for service. Restock supplies and handle inventory.
- Set up and break down bar area: Organize the bar area before and after each shift, ensuring cleanliness and proper hygiene standards are maintained at all times.
- Upselling and recommending: Upsell premium spirits and cocktails, suggest pairings, and enhance guests' experience.
- Collaboration with the team: Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth service, contributing to the overall success of the hospitality team.
- Follow safety protocols: Adhere to all health, safety, and alcohol service regulations while serving guests.
- Perform other duties and tasks as operationally required
