Fire Technician

Our client a Fire Specialist provider of fire protection equipment and systems as well as integrated security and enterprise management solutions, based in the Northern Suburbs, have positions available for Fire Technicians with a minimum of 2 - 3 years’ experience.

You will be responsible for the following:
On site servicing & installation of fire extinguishers, hose reels, hydrants & lay flat hoses

Installation and service fire detection and suppression solutions and the service and maintenance thereof

Ensure neat, correct, and timeous installation of fire systems. Installations to be in line with business and industry standards and meet accreditation i.e., SANS 1475 and Detection and Gas Suppression

Your duties will be for the installation of fire detection systems and commissioning thereof Expertise installing high profile, fast paced projects

Ensure that any changes required on site to install Fire Detection and Gas Suppression are timeously reported

Conduct Maintenance on Fire Systems and Equipment

Identify all fire systems faults and recommend repairs or service required

Work effectively and collaboratively with project team and Project Manager

Work and adhere to plans which identifies the activities needed to successfully install or service, commission and handover sites

Keep forms and records to document daily project activities

Ensure quality of work on site to ensure that it meets the project standards and specifications

Check stock before deployment to site and when on site in order to ensure everything required is available

Ensure any deviations in required materials are timeously reported to the project manager to allow time for ordering

Proper control over all documents and records of all tests on site to include in handover documents as proof of functional testing. Timeous handing in of all completed job cards

Be able to manage an assistant where required

Adherence to project and Environmental Health and Safety plans

Keep forms and records to document daily project activities

Manager and make adjustments as agreed with Project Manager to ensure the successful completion or projects

Maintaining a good customer relationship with all Commercial Clients whilst on site

Focus on ensuring quality service to clients

**Education**:
Matric

1475 Fire Technicians with Level 4 (Commissioner) in Detection and Gas Suppression

SAQCC registered with minimum of Installer & Commissioner Certification

Knowledgeable and experienced across all 3 units (Fire Extinguishers, Gas Suppression & Sprinkler Systems, Fire Panel Training, CCTV, Access Control)

2-3 years’ work experience

Valid driver’s licence.
