As a Front Desk Agent, your primary focus is on Guest interaction, providing excellent Customer Service and maintaining the quality and standards of the AC Hotel by Marriott Cape Town Waterfront in accordance with Marriott International Hotels standards, policies and procedures.
**Required Experience & Qualifications**:
- 2- 3 years’ experience in a similar position within a Hotel environment
- A appropriate recognized qualification would be advantageous
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint)
- Working Knowledge in Fidelio Opera
- Ability to work flexible working hours and rostered shifts as and when required
- Strong and effective communication and problem solving skills
- Excellent Telephone skills and etiquette
- Quality and customer service driven
- Attention to detail and efficiency pertaining to area of responsibility
- Sound financial acumen
- Ability to maintain positive working relationships in the Front Office Department as well as other deparments within the Hotel.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Process all guest check-ins by confirming reservations, assigning room, and issuing and activating room key.
- Process all payment types such as room charges, cash, checks, debit, or credit.
- Process all check-outs including resolving any late and disputed charges.
- Answer, record, and process all guest calls, messages, requests, questions, or concerns.
- Coordinate with Housekeeping to track readiness of rooms for check-in.
- Communicate parking procedures to guests/visitors and dispatch Porter’s as needed.
- Supply guests with directions and information regarding property and local areas of interest.
- Run daily reports (number of arrivals, departures), identify any special requests, and check reports for accuracy.
- Complete designated cashier and closing reports in the computer system.
- Count bank at the beginning and end of shift.
- Balance and drop receipts according to Accounting specifications.
- Participate and achieve monthly Rewards Programme Enrollment Targets.
- Maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance as per company standards
- Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures including COVID19 related protocals and wearing personal protective equipment; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager
