**Job Purpose**:
The Department of Infrastructure, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a qualified individual to provide technical services and support in engineering design and research related the maintenance and improvement of the provincial road network. This post is stationed in Cape Town, CBD.

**Key Performance Areas**:

Knowledge of the following: Structural engineering design of minor road structures (culverts); Hydrology and hydraulic design of road structures; Computer-Aided Design Software (AutoCAD or OpenRoads); Frame and finite element analysis of minor structures with the aid of computer software (Prokon); Relevant road infrastructure technical manuals, standards and procedures; Decision making; Team work; Creativity; Customer focus and responsiveness; Written and verbal communication skills; Computer skills; People Management; Planning and Organising; Change Management; Good analytical, problem solving, interpersonal and organisational skills; Good verbal and written communication skills; Computer literacy; People management; Planning and organising skills; Change management.

**Remuneration**:
Grade A: R 353 013 - R 376 806 per annum; Grade B: R398 865- R 428 619 per annum; Grade C: R 451 587- R 531 117 per annum, (Salary will be determined based on post registration experience as per OSD prescribed)

Note on remuneration: Cost-to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for certain occupation-specific dispensations (OSD) are inclusive of all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, 13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc. Where remuneration is not indicated as CTE, employees' service benefits or obligations are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
