Medical Aid rate based on principal member only) - To be confirmed - Advert Closing Date - 31/8/2025 - Job Purpose This position is intended to assist the department in achieving its academic objectives, which include teaching in accordance with a predetermined curriculum, conducting research and innovation, participating in community engagement and teaching practice activities, as well as developing and designing curricula. - Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience - A relevant Master’s degree in Education or Education Studies. - An Honours degree in Education, or Education specialization (curriculum studies, educational management, philosophy of education, sociology of education, inclusive education, and psychology of education). - A relevant teaching qualification with a relevant major in SPFET (preferable at secondary school level). - Two (2) years relevant lecturing experience in SP & FET at tertiary level or five (5) years’ relevant teaching experience at school level. - Specialized knowledge of methodologies of teaching. **Recommendations**: - A relevant doctoral degree. - Relevant research output. - Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities - Teaching in the SP & FET department. - Curriculum development and other learning materials. - Supervising students on teaching practice. - Research and involvement in research activities (publications and supervision). - Academic administration, development, and administration. - Assessment and Quality Assurance. - Community engagement. - Mentoring and support of students (and staff). - Networking with schools and other networks. - Perform other functions as may be assigned by the Head of Department. - Competencies - Expert knowledge in Education. - Excellent teaching skills. - Adequate content and pedagogical content knowledge. - Good work ethics and ability to manage work. - Community engagement. - Mentoring and support of students (and staff). - Teamwork and collaboration. - Adaptability. - Computer literacy skills for teaching technology. - Meticulous planning and organizing skills/Time Management. - Networking with schools and other networks. - Presentation skills. - Ability to align yourself to hybrid teaching and learning models (face-to-face and on-line learning). - Strong learner focus. - General Information **Closing Date**: 31 August 2025 **Please ensure that your on-line CV highlights and includes the following information**: 1.
