We are looking for a BEng or MEng graduate mechanical engineer with an interest in design. The successful applicant will form part of a small diverse team responsible for designing, building, testing and improving thermal waste treatment equipment.

We seek to fill this position by March 2025.

Macrotec is a South African based company specialising in Thermal Engineering, with products such as Incinerators, Hot Gas Filtration and Gold Recovery Systems.

Our focus is on innovating and designing solutions for industries such as waste management, product recovery, mining, and crematoria; to reduce emissions, improve operating efficiencies, and increase reliability.

Major duties and responsibilities
- Mechanical design of high temperature process equipment. This includes the following:

- Material selection
- Stress analysis
- Design of supporting structures
- Ensuring designs comply with client requirements
- Mechanical draughting of designs
- Finite element analysis of designed parts

Essential requirements
- BEng in mechanical engineering required
- MEng will be an advantage
- Ability to work independently
- Willingness to travel
- Ability to work under pressure with deadlines
