Data Scientist

Are you a data enthusiast who loves turning complex problems into smart, scalable solutions? We're looking for a Data Scientist to join a growing team supporting a major UK Retailer brand, working on customer focused projects that make a real impact.

This is a hands on contract role where you'll be designing and deploying machine learning models that help us better understand customer behaviour, improve marketing performance, and drive smarter decision making. You'll be working on greenfield projects, collaborating with cross functional teams, and using the latest tools and technologies to bring ideas to life.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Designing and developing machine learning models for customer analytics (segmentation, propensity modelling, lifetime value, etc.)
• Exploring generative AI techniques where relevant
• Building end-to-end ML pipelines using MLOps frameworks
• Embedding model outputs into business tools like Power BI or internal apps
• Collaborating with stakeholders to translate business needs into data science solutions
• Communicating insights clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
• Supporting the growth of the data science function and demonstrating its value across the business

What We're Looking For:

• You've got 3+ years of experience in data science or Machine Learning engineering
• You're confident with Python, SQL, and common data science libraries
• You understand MLOps practices and have experience with CI/CD and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• You're familiar with tools like SageMaker or Snowflake (a plus)
• You've got strong modelling skills across classification, regression, clustering, and forecasting
• You're a clear communicator who can explain complex ideas simply
• You're curious about customer experience and marketing analytics
