Retail Area Manager

**Job Purpose**:
- As an Retail Area Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing security operations within the retail sector across multiple locations. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the safety and security of our clients' assets, employees, and customers while maintaining a high level of service delivery._
**Key Requirements**:
- _A-Grade Registered (Updated)_
- _ Valid Driver's license_
- _ Matric (Grade 12)_
- _ Reside in the areas of Caledon, Swellendam, Riviersonderend, Riversdale, Bonnievale_
- _ Proven experience in security management, preferably in a supervisory or managerial role._
- _Strong leadership and team management skills._
- _ Minimum of 3 years working a retail area manager._
- _Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities._
- _Sound knowledge of security practices, laws, and regulations._
- _Ability to analyze data, assess risks, and make informed decisions._
- _Proficiency in using security technology and systems._
- _ T_he ability to work under pressure_
- _ Confidence, drive and enthusiasm_
- _ Decision-making ability and a sense of responsibility_
- _ Planning and organizational skills_
- _ Experience using relevant technology and equipment_
- _ Experience in reporting and emergency response planning_
- _ Excellent knowledge of security protocols and procedures_
- _ Solid understanding of budgeting and statistical data analysis_
- _ Working knowledge of MS Office_
- _ Retail Security Certificate will be an advantage_

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Operational Management**:
- _Supervise and coordinate security teams across multiple locations within the designated area._
- _ Implement and enforce security policies, procedures, and protocols to maintain a safe and secure environment._
- _ Conduct regular site visits to stores and other facilities to ensure compliance and address any security concerns._
**Team Leadership and Development**:
- _Recruit, train, and mentor security staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge for their roles._
- _ Monitor team performance, conduct performance evaluations, and provide feedback for continuous improvement._
- _ Foster a positive work culture that promotes teamwork, professionalism, and excellence in service delivery._
**Client Relationship Management**:
- _Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their security needs and expectations._
- _ Act as the primary point of contact for client communication and address any security-related issues or inquiries._
- _ Collaborate with clients to develop and implement customized security solutions and strategies._
**Risk Assessment and Mitigation**:
- _Conduct regular risk assessments and security audits at stores and other locations to identify potential vulnerabilities and threats._
- _ Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and emergency response plans._
- _ Respond promptly to security incidents and emergencies, taking appropriate action to minimize risks and ensure safety._
**Reporting and Documentation**:
- _Maintain accurate records of security incidents, investigations, and resolutions._
- _ Prepare and submit reports to management and clients regarding security performance, trends, and recommendations for improvement._
- _ Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards._
- _ Adherence to Policies: Adhere to all company policies, regulations, and safety standards while carrying out job duties._._
**Loss Control**
- _Responsible for any losses that my occur in the Shoprite stores which has been allocated to him. _
- _Attend shrinkage meets with the client Shoprite._
- _ Attend the stock takes of each store._
**General**
- _Visit each store at least once a week._
- _ Four (4) openings - as well as four (4) closing of store per month._
- **_ C_**_onduct locker searches as well as roadblock at the store. _
- _Manage a security team_
- _ Ensure that all sites are covered by 10:00 every day._
- _ Plan and draft of monthly duty rosters, duty rosters must be on site no later than the 10th of each month_
- _ Do department checks in all Checkers, Shoprite and Usave stores, that you are responsible_
- _ Control budgets for security operations and monitor expenses_
- _ Attend meetings with other managers to determine operational needs_
- _ Plan and perform Store Openings, Store Closings and Roadblocks in your area._
- _ Capture all arrest in your area, with in five (5) days of the incident_
- _ Investigate and resolve issues_
