**Description**:
Oxford Economics Africa is a majority-owned subsidiary of Oxford Economics that specialises in political and macroeconomic research. Our office is based in Paarl and we offer a hybrid working environment.
This role will entail performing macroeconomic analysis and forecasting on a selection of countries in Africa. This involves doing thorough research on all factors that could affect the countries’ political and policy environments and economies, analysing what that might mean for different drivers, and putting our analysis (and expectations for the future) into clear, readable language for use in our subscription products. The role requires learning the use of the Oxford Economics Global Economic Model, the tool that informs our macroeconomic projections and scenarios.
**Key Responsibilities**:
You must possess a very strong grasp of economic theory, as well as a keen interest in current affairs and be able to present your conclusions clearly and in detail in writing, as well as verbally.
**Skills, Knowledge and Expertise**:
**A high standard of written English is a key requirement.**
The position requires at least a BComm Honours in Economics, Econometrical Analysis or Econometrics, or else a BA Honours with a PPE as first degree. A Master’s degree (in Economics or Political Science) will be preferable.
