Maintenance Planner

Our client a contract drilling company focusing exclusively on drilling for the mining and water industries, is seeking a Maintenance Planner to join their team in Limpopo. The position is required to assist the Engineering team on site to manage all aspects of onsite maintenance management and planning activities for all fleet items. Ensuring all planned and unplanned maintenance are carried out efficiently to maximize primary production time via equipment which is reliable and available.

**Responsibilities**:
Supporting, scheduling and execution of all maintenance planning and scheduling of Earthmoving plant and ancillary equipment using Upkeep maintenance management system as well as other company internal protocols and procedures aligned with Asset Care and minimising reactive/ unplanned downtime.
Generate regular Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Reports - Depicting trends in plant utilisation, availabilities, and reliability (Mean Time Between Failures/ MTBF's and Mean Time to Repairs/ MTTR's)
Lead successful implementation of Upkeep maintenance management system.
Ensure effective planning, organizing, and prioritizing of all engineering related activities
Ensure all work that is identified is planned, scheduled, and executed
Ensure Project equipment is maintained according to company SOP with proper planning and reporting
Allocate tasks to maintenance staff.
Gather feedback on work completed.
Schedule execution and completion of upcoming maintenance events (Weekly).
Ensure plant and equipment inspections are being done, co-coordinated, documented and given to the relevant authorities for action.
Tracking and reporting of all assets
Maintain backlog register
Equipment service planning and scheduling.
Analysis unplanned downtime and work on preventative plans with Maintenance Superintendent
Ensure compliance with the company's Maintenance Management system
Adhere and audit legal requirements
Effective document and data control management
Ensure client/service orientation is maintained
Knowledge sharing
Identify training needs related to subordinates
Maintain a professional and disciplined approach to your work and ensure that your section/shift you are appointed to, adhere to all requirements
Effective time management
Maintain high levels of integrity, assertiveness, commitment, and decisiveness

**Requirements**: Qualification and Skill

BTech Diploma - Engineering advantageous
Red Seal Trade qualification advantageous
Background in Mechanical, Hydraulic and Electrical experience on mining equipment mandatory
Strong engineering technical background on different equipment (Support and Production)
Previous Mining Engineering maintenance planning experience mandatory
Previous experience with a CMMS (Computerized maintenance management system)
Mining Experience minimum 3-5 years mining related experience required
Sound understanding and previous exposure to large mining house legal standards
Computer literate (MS Excel / MS Word / MS Outlook)

**Benefits and Contractual information**:
Able to work pay weekend structure (on site - full time - Mon - Sat) - off five days at month end
