**Requirements**:

- B.Sc. (Eng.) / B. Eng. degree in Electrical Engineering
- Certificate of Competency (Factories) issued by the Chief

Inspector of Labour - minimum OHSA (law) pass.
- Registered as a Professional Engineer with ECSA.
- 10 years’ experience post registration in the medium/high

voltage electrical engineering/power systems field, of which a
minimum of 5 years should be in the medium/high voltage
electrical engineering/power systems field.
- Minimum of 5 years in a managerial position at senior level.
- In depth knowledge of the operations, maintenance and

technology of high voltage electricity transmission/distribution
equipment and power systems.
- Maintenance management of electricity networks
- Knowledge of applicable legislation, industry standards and

specifications (e.g. National Rationalised Specifications (NRS))
- Sound knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act

(OHS Act).
- Corporate governance principles.
- Batho Pele principles.

Key Performance Areas
- Analysing and aligning functional requirements with available

operating capacity and capability within industry standards.
- Defining and adjusting the role boundaries, workflow

processes and job design against laid down service delivery
requirements.
- Inspecting work sites and conducting observations of work

processes and sequences, and determining extent of
awareness and the need for corrective and remedial
measures.
- Analysing trends, operating requirements and forward plans to

establish/ determine operating and capital funding
requirements for the period.
- Guiding the drafting, adjudication and reporting processes

with regards to contracts/ tenders and verifying details,
terms and conditions, specifications, etc.
