Technical Manager

The purpose of the role is to professionally provide and coordinate technical and commercial support, with reference to the parasiticide product range, to the sales and marketing efforts of the team. In addition, offer training to all involved in the marketing, distribution, selling and use of the company ruminant product range. The role will also oversee all pharmacovigilance matters pertaining to the ruminant parasiticide portfolio, ensuring compliant reporting and case handling of all ruminant adverse events and product quality complaints. In addition, training of all company sales representatives on ruminant Pharmacovigilance.

**Primary Accountabilities**:

- Provide technical support to sales staff and clients.
- Evaluate and examine product complaints and co-ordinate with the Pharmaceutical Manager
- Assist with the technical aspects relating to the registration of new products and coordinate new product launches, together with the Business Development and Technical Lead
- Training of staff and clients on the technical aspects of the ruminant parasiticide range as part of on-going continuing education policy.
- Assist teams to achieve sales as per target set.
- Assist to expand market share of portfolio products.
- Write informative articles for print media.
- Scientifics, editorial and advertorial articles for the veterinary and laypeople should serve to build company image and product/service awareness.
- Approval of technical aspects of print and packaging material.
- Participate in public and professional appearances, such as congresses and welfare days.
- National disease surveillance to identify opportunities for new product development.
- Assist with on-farm product support.

**NATURE AND SCOPE**:

- Advise clients on product range, diseases, use of vaccines and pharmaceuticals, adverse reactions to products and aid in concluding diagnosis.
- The Technical Specialist shall ensure all Adverse Events and Quality Complaints received within the department are dealt with timeously as described above and all events are investigated and completed.
- Coordinate stands and promotion at congresses.
- Initiate field trials, monitor, data collection, collation and provision of data to support registration of new products.
- Participate in public
- and professional appearances.
- Liaise with relevant organisations and regulatory department to maintain registration of veterinary products.
- Collect data on market developments in the industry and among competitors.
- Liaise on a regular basis with top 10 clients.
- Summarise market information and activities of competitors provided by the sales force.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in order to expand sales of the Company’s product range.
- Search for new market opportunities.
- Responsible for overall satisfaction of customers and take appropriate action to ensure all customer needs and expectations are met.
- Liaise with relevant organisations and maintain registrations of veterinary products.
- Collect data on market developments - the Veterinary industry and developments of competitor companies.
- Complaint follow-up and resolution.
- Manage all ruminant pharmacovigilance reports with the ruminant technical and product team, ensuring timely reporting and driving completion of cases with appropriate follow up.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Veterinarian (BVSc degree) with at least 2 years’ experience in Ruminant medicine.
