IT Sage Functional Specialist in Johannesburg

**Purpose of the Role**:
The domains for our Current Modules in Sage evolution 200 are:

- Core Financials (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Tax, Cashbook, Inventory)
- Financial Operations (Online Branch Accounting, Fixed Assets, Multi-currency, Customers [Credit Risk Management, Linked Accounts, Resolve, Cash Manager], Banking, Inventory [Price Matrix, Multi-Warehousing, Retail POS, Lot Tracking, Discrete Manufacturing, Bill of Materials])
- Financial analytics (BIC, BIC OLAP, Sage Intelligence)

The **Sage Functional Specialist** is expected to:

- provide daily support to all Sage users including over month ends and annual budget preparation cycles
- install, setup, configure, maintain, and support all Sage instances
- pro-actively drive adoption of Sage
- suggest solutions to solve user problems related to Sage where user understanding of Sage capabilities may be incomplete
- prepare training materials and train users and IT team members as the need arises
- identify and motivate for additional modules to be purchased to solve existing business issues that are managed manually
- implement modules purchased but not yet implemented to maximise our investments in Sage
- re-implementing / re-configuration of implemented modules that may not be implemented according to Sage best practise
- lead and participate in projects to use Sage functionality to replace bespoke, inhouse developed solutions
- monitor Sage to improve user experience (faster response); prevent audit findings (improve governance) and reduce cyber security vulnerabilities (reduce risk)
- support the IT Project Manager to deliver projects on time, on cost, on scope with a positive customer satisfaction rating from all project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
- prepare professional, easily understandable, accurate, comprehensive, timeous reports as needed
- create documentation (such as requirement, specifications, design, testing, operations, and SOPs) as required
- support members of IT (managers, project managers, business analysts, software test analysts, architects, system administrators and DBAs) to meet project objectives and operational uptime SLA related to Sage 200
- by testing accuracy of data in Sage 200 for 3rd party solutions integrated to Sage 200 (by all connectivity such as SDK API, etc)

**Minimum Education**:
Mandatory

Certifications in Sage 200

Advantageous

Certifications in Sage Intacct

**Critical Experience**:
5+ years as a Sage Functional Specialist with training, experience and certifications related to Sage 200 Evolution

5+ years’ experience and expert knowledge in the _Core Financials_ and _Financial Operations_ domains and modules

Successful track record in the implementation of Sage 200 through complex projects working with internal IT teams and Sage Business Partners

Solid working knowledge in all aspects of Sage 200 including the use of SDK APIs

Experience with Sage branch accounting as it pertains to a multi-national organisation operating in multiple countries and multiple currencies

Advantageous Experience

Sage back end / developer experience and / or certifications

Previous financial certifications / experience / background working in finance teams of medium / large organisations

2+ years as a Sage Functional Specialist with training, experience and certifications related to Sage Intacct

Successful track record in the implementation of Sage Intacct through complex projects working with internal IT teams and Sage Business Partners

Projects involving multi-national scope (especially Africa)

Previous health care industry experience
