- As as Employee Relations Specialist, you will be responsible activities:
**Specialist Support and Advice on ER and Wellness Matters**
To provide support on understanding of company policies and/ procedures relating employee relations and ensure awareness
- To promote and maintain harmonious relations between management and staff.
- To co-ordinate and provide training in specific areas of employee relations
- To compile reports on areas on employee relations**Represent the company at the Bargaining Forums and Industry Related Forums**

**To deputize **in handling ER matters that being referred externally
- To represent the company at conciliations and arbitrations
- To participate at sector and industry collective bargaining processes as delegated- To compile relevant
- **files **on cases/matters as required**Advise on Disciplinary and Conduct Grievance Hearings**
To conduct grievance and disciplinary hearings timely and ensure consistency and fairness
- To assist with drafts for formulating charges
- To provide advice on handling of discipline and disciplinary processes
- To ensure that all notifications and correspondence issued to employees is within the ambit of company policies and procedures and the law
- To ensure that disciplinary and grievance matters are dealt within company policies and procedures as well as legal provisions
- To advise employees, management and chairpersons on all disciplinary and grievance matters**To Coordinate and Facilitate ER Interventions**

**To maintain **harmonious relations with unions in South Africa and other applicable jurisdictions
- To engage with unions on company level issues relating to union members
- **To ensure proper administration **of collective bargaining agreements at company level.
- To communicate
- **and provide **feedback on issues pertaining to collective bargaining
- To ensure that union officials/shop stewards activities are properly coordinated to avoid misunderstanding

**Context and environment**
- Context: ER services are provided in South Africa and in the NBE countries to ensure good employee
- **relations in the workplace. **The said jurisdictions require good understanding of local laws.
- Climate: The pressures to perform efficiently and harmoniously demands constant communication and personal contact/interaction.
- Technical: Incumbent should be able to carry out effective, balanced /fair communication and advice to all stakeholders in light of current policies, procedures and prevailing legislation and codes of good practice. He/she must have basic understating of applicable labour law per jurisdiction.
- As an Employee Relations Specialist, ideally you will possess the following:

- A diploma/Degree (NQF6) qualification in Labour Relations.
- At least three years experience functioning a role where dispute resolution processes up to arbitration level was a factor,
- Experience working in a unionised environment.
- Ability to keep abreast with Labour Law cases and ensuring that company policies, procedures and practices are properly aligned.
- Good knowledge of all Labour Legislation (i.e. LRA, BCEA, EEA) and good knowledge of similar legislation in NBE countries.

- Computer literacy especially in Microsoft Windows suite.
- Demonstrable business acumen and ability to exercise sound judgment
- In possession of a valid Code 8 driver's license
- Key competencies include initiating action, adhering to principles and values, persuading and influencing, presenting and communicating, writing and reporiing, and coping with pressure and setbacks.
