The position
You will play a key role in our Policy Evaluation and Impact Analysis team, a recently established function in Africa Practice that provides rigorous socio-economic analysis to help decision-makers understand the impact of various policy options, and to help improve the engagement process between the private sector and the public sector.
You will support the team by providing exceptional research, analysis and critical thinking across a range of projects for private sector clients and multinational donor organisations.
You will work closely with the Lead for the Policy Evaluation and Impact Analysis, helping to develop innovative, client tailored solutions.
The ideal profile
- You have a passion and a professional or academic background in Economics or a related discipline, preferably with a Masters or Honours degree
- You are intellectually curious and passionate about answering complex socio-economic questions
- You enjoy research, data analysis and writing
- You are interested in contributing to the global shift towards sustainability, and helping the clients navigate this.
- You have 1-2 years of experience in a related field or role
- Strong ability to use data to answer economic questions, with an affinity for Microsoft Excel and other tools.
- You are eager to learn and grow your skills in economic and policy consulting
**Responsibilities**:
Research
- Provide extensive research, via desktop and stakeholder engagements, to identify proof points, data sources and literature to support projects.
Data analysis and model building
- Analysis of survey and macro-economic data, and supporting the development of economic models to quantify economic impact
Supporting the development and implementation of surveys and qualitative interviews
- Developing questionnaires, surveys, interview guides and supporting implementation
Development of reports and other outputs
- Writing up reports and other outputs for various audiences and clients
