We pride ourselves in playing a crucial role in the transition towards a more sustainable economy through the development of projects from concept to financial closure by providing Front-End Engineering Design & Front-End Project Management services by positioning the organisation at the nexus of the green economy of the inter-linkage of water, energy, and agriculture and waste.

Role

Given the high unemployment rates amongst the youth, the inability to cope with the real life demands of corporate life and the lack of exposure to the core engineering functions which results in inadequate experience, numerous individuals are sitting without the necessary experience to enter the corporate world. We understand that Gen Z & Millennials have been dealt a bad hand, and that the problem is getting worst. This internship has been tailor-made to empower the next generation with the transition towards the corporate environment.

You will form part of a group of recently qualified engineers and technicians with the end goal of ultimately enrolling for the formal programme to register as a professional engineer, technologist or technician. This internship does however cover fundamental engineering skills such as research, calculations, report writing, and ultimately complex problem solving to contribute towards your professional development within your specific engineering discipline. In addition to this, skills for the future of work would also be transferred through the program, with the personal choice for the development of at least one such a skill.

**Requirements**:

- An Honours degree in electrical, mechanical or chemical engineering, economics or related commercial (not negotiable). A Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge and understanding of clean energy technologies and associated system components would be an added advantage;
- Knowledge of industry development dynamics including policy, finance, technologies certification, and markets would be an added advantage;
- Technical proficiency and ability to link knowledge to current research, stay current in the field of expertise with respect to new approaches;
- Proficient in MS Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and able to learn new software.

Duties and responsibilities
- Contribute towards objective analysis of renewable energy technologies
- Research and development requirements includes references to related codes, standards and protocols, as well as renewable energy sources and systems
- Capturing energy statistics and economics
- Consolidation of market research and analysis, by the compilation of industry studies
- Capturing of regulatory bodies reports
- Product and supplier research
- Energy sector market analysis and capturing of data
