**Job Family** Investment Banking **Job Purpose** This is a front office role within Leveraged and Diversified Finance, which is part of the greater Investment Bank. Leveraged and Diversified Finance is focused on originating, implementing and maintaining term funding transactions (Investment Grade, Leveraged, Preference Shares, Mezzanine). The sectors that are covered are as follows: Private Equity, Investment Holding Companies, BEE, Family Offices, Healthcare, Pharmaceuticals, FMCG, Retail, Travel & Leisure, General Industrials and Services, Automotive and Financial Institutions (Insurers and Asset Managers). **Responsibilities**: - Originate transactions through thorough market knowledge and networking, active marketing and pitching potential transactions to client and potential clients of the Bank. - Grow term assets (tenor > 12 months) through the pro-active identification and development of business opportunities. - Deliver Non-Interest Revenue, from both structuring and arranging fees, as well as equity upside revaluations. - Execute transactions by structuring, analysing, negotiating, managing and pitching for new to bank deals. - Contribute to innovation and product development in Leverage and Diversified Finance. - Deliver quality structured funding solutions to meet requirements of existing and potential customers. - Execute and present at all relevant internal forums including credit, investment committee and business forums. - Manage portfolio risk to maintain profitability and acceptable credit loss ratios. - Manage risks by ensuring compliance with the relevant credit, investment and compliance policies of the bank. - Identify and mitigate operational risk by implementing controls. - Build and sustain trusting internal and external relationships and alliances across functional and organizational boundaries through collaboration with relevant stakeholders. **Essential Qualifications - NQF Level** - Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees **Preferred Qualification** - CA(SA) / ACCA / MBA / CFA / Relevant Postgraduate Qualification. **Minimum Experience Level** - Minimum of 8-10 years banking / relevant sector experience, with a strong background in lending and/or supporting lending teams in leveraged finance and corporate lending industry, specifically relating to South Africa. - Deep knowledge and experience of funding in the South African market, including relevant tax knowledge and experience; and developed network in South Africa and proven ability to execute on transactions.
