**Responsibilities**:
**Senior User Assistance Specialist (Technical Writer)**:

- This position requires individuals to write, update, and deliver software user assistance, including documentation, self-paced eLearning, and other learning content for Hexagon’s online documentation portal and Hexagon University. Individuals in this position work under general supervision.

Responsibilities include:

- Uses strong writing skills to create and update concepts, procedures, work processes, videos, and eLearning for multiple audiences
- Can articulate training objectives for assigned software products
- Demonstrates basic instructional design skills and can develop scenario-based learning content, tutorial videos, and assessments with moderate guidance
- Masters basic documentation skills and strategies and uses them to accomplish department-wide and product-specific goals
- Acquires specific expertise in user assistance approaches and best practices
- Develops strong product knowledge and understanding of users
- Uses effective communication skills to work closely with cross-functional teams to create learning content that meets customer needs
- Participates in peer reviews and collaborative content creation, working with a world-wide User Assistance team

Qualifications:
Qualifications include:

- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in technical writing, technical communication, instructional design, learning design and technology, or a related field
- 3-5 years of experience in developing online help, technical documentation, and/or eLearning content, preferably for commercial software products
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and flexibility to accommodate changing requirements and priorities
- Knowledge of Author-it, Captivate, Articulate, 360Learning, Visio, and/or other documentation and training development tools is a plus
