**Job Role**:
Most importantly, the focus will be placed on upskilling and supporting managers and employees, developing strategies to overcome performance development areas and rethinking retention and attraction strategies.
This role requires a good understanding of business challenges and objectives, but mostly being able to think creatively and divergently. Those skills will guide you in creating, implementing and maintaining strategies and initiatives developed by you in close collaboration with the CEO and other senior leaders of Pinewood.
Skills in performance management and engaging an increasingly locationally diverse and hybrid workforce are increasinglywell regarded.
**Key Objectives**:
- Work with management, staff and third parties, to ensure the implementation of company HR strategies, policies and procedures;
- Effectively reviewing, developing, and implementing company policies and procedures;
- Work with management and third parties to ensure the continuous development and effective implementation of company policies and procedures in support of South African Employment Legislation. This will include:
- Assisting management with implementing company policies and procedures to ensure the effective day-to-day management of staff relations;
- Ensuring all staff are aware of their benefits, rights and obligations in terms of company policies and procedures, and ensuring all related administrative duties are implemented and maintained;
- Coordinating staff development and talent management strategies, to ensure continuous improvement in staff competency, leadership capacity and people performance.
- Bridging talent gaps in the short-term and identify and respond to longer term talent trends and expectations.
- Fostering a culture of wellbeing, inclusion and enhancing the working environment and employee experience at Pinewood.
- Partnering and building on the foundation of current mentoring and coaching programmes to enhance development and performance for all team members.
- Assist management in establishing, developing and encouraging a staff training programme.
- Facilitating the sourcing and delivery of training courses as required.
- Arranging weekly meetings with CEO to refine and implement HR strategies.
- Assisting Management with disciplinary procedures.
- Conducting regular check-ins with all staff.
- Develop and maintain job descriptions. This includes evaluating and updating existing job descriptions in consultation with management.
- Working with management and staff to ensure agreement and understanding of roles.
- Ensuring that changes to job descriptions arising from promotions or other changes are reflected in staff contracts.
- Manage recruitment, including:
- Actively work with management and staff to advise on workforce needs, recruitment and staff development.
- Develop and maintain a streamlined recruitment process that involves efficient sourcing, vetting and placement of new team members.
- Assist with identifying and assessing and recruitment needs
- Assisting managers with the interview and testing process;
- Managing staff onboarding and exit procedures; and
- Compiling contracts for incoming staff and updating them as necessary.
**Inherent Requirements of the Job**:
- Suitably Qualified with tertiary education in HR Management or Industrial Psychology
- 3 + years professional HR experience in similar roles
- Experience in developing and rolling out HR strategies
- Have a hands-on, collaborative HR approach mindset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills - ability to communicate with all levels in the organisation.
