Overview**:Background**:

Since its founding in 1977 by four enterprising women, Creative has earned a solid reputation among its clients and is well-regarded by competitors and partners alike.
Creative seeks a Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Advisor to take the lead improving the quality and relevance of GESI activities related to activities in the anticipated Southern Africa Mobilizing Investment (SAMI). SAMI will focus in (1) Mobilizing catalytic capital to establish sustainable investment flows into sectors that were previously underserved by investors; (2)Developing the capacity of fund managers that would traditionally have difficulty accessing capital, (3)Working with financial and non-financial intermediaries to identify and perform the due diligence necessary for bankable investment opportunities and (4) Facilitating connections between U.S. and Southern African capital providers.
The GESI Advisor will provide guidance on gender and social inclusion mainstreaming throughout project implementation. S/he will be responsible for gender and social inclusion analysis and gender strategy.
The GESI Advisor will report to the Chief of Party.
**Expected Outcomes**:
- The project’s gender equality and social inclusion strategy is implemented in compliance with project work plan and client expectations;
- The project meets or exceeds required gender indicators established in the performance monitoring plan (PMP) and client reporting requirements; and
- The project successfully builds organizational capacity in project partners, government, and stakeholders to incorporate gender equality and social inclusion strategies and approaches that contribute to sustainability beyond the life of project.
Responsibilities**:Primary Responsibilities**:
- Provide baseline GESI analysis; working with SAMI team and partners to co-design a GESI strategy
- Conduct project staff and partner training to ensure that all SAMI staff are engaged and allied to work as one-team to support and mainstream GESI
- Provide oversight and contributions to the grant development process that will ensure that the process is equitable, accessible, and inclusive to minority and women-owned and operated entities.
- Work with technical team and potential grantees to ensure that all programmatic training and technical assistance provided by SAMI exemplifies best practice in gender and inclusion
- Contribute to monitoring and evaluation activities focusing on gender equity; and
- Support the design and implementation of GESI related indicators.
Qualifications**:Required Skills and Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in social studies, business, international development, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- At least five (5) years of technical experience in donor-funded gender programming, USAID experience preferred;
- Experience and knowledge of financial is highly desired; and demonstrated understanding of systemic barriers related to women’s access to capital in Southern Africa.
- English fluency required.
