KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

POSITION: Operations Supervisor

REPORTING TO: Regional Manager

The basic Key Performance Areas of the position are:
Full Operational function with regards to:
Receipt of stock into warehouse

Receive physical stock from both local and overseas suppliers

Check all stock delivered (i.e. quantity supplied, quality supplied)

Mark all discrepancies on Goods Received Control Sheet

Receiving of returns for credit and completion of credit authorisations and checking correct stock received

Stock control

Monitor stock levels on a daily basis

Ensure regular stock takes are performed

Picking and Packing of stock for delivery

Ensure picking and packing of goods is completed by storeman on a daily basis and within the required turnaround time

Ensure that efficient systems and controls and in place

Monitor backorders in consultation with Warehouse Logistics Manager

Liaise with sales department on discrepancies

Despatch / Delivery of goods

Ensure dispatch / delivery of goods takes place timeously and efficiently

Liaise with sales department if delivery problems arise

Daily trip sheets for drivers to be completed

Assisting with customers who are collecting orders

Inter-branch transfers

Receiving of stock for inter branch transfers and checking stock received is correct

Preparation of orders to maintain optimum stock levels

Production

Spot check and quality control of converted goods received

Management of warehouse staff and drivers

Ensure that all warehouse staff are aware of what is required of them at all times

Completion of daily attendance register

Maintain discipline

Supervision of Pickers, Packers and Drivers

Housekeeping of Warehouse

The acceptance of other duties beyond the general scope of this function as and when required by management.

Basic Requirements: Minimum of matric but relevant post matric would be an advantage

Minimum of 3 years' experience in a supervisory position

Excellent communication skills in both English and Afrikaans

Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff

Must be computer literate

Individual should be energetic, confident, self-motivated and fast leaner

Outstanding organizational skills

Ability to multitask and prioritize workload

Attention to detail essential
