Job overview:
The position is responsible for ongoing management of the purchasing activity and for ensuring optimal supplier performance and price. Develop and implement these strategies to ensure the function is operating in line with the objectives of the business to add value, mitigate supply chain risk and deliver cost savings. Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships and manage the development of contracts, contractual relationships and contract management to deliver continuous improvement in delivery of goods and services by the supply base. Ensure to deliver the appropriate support to the business in order for the corporate and business development objectives to be met. Work alongside the senior management team I contributing to overall business objectives.

**Responsibilities**:

- Manage stock levels and co-ordinate ordering of replenishing stock at all Branches and Warehouses.
- Take a strategic and long-term view of procurement in identifying and developing innovative sources and contractual arrangements.
- Implement supply chain networks and strategies within the department to ensure day to day operations run optimally
- Sourcing from suppliers that can provide a strategic benefit to the business.
- Looking for innovative new products that complement the current range together with doing comparison in the market to ensure the business is priced right and fit for purpose.
- Provide technical expertise and product knowledge to all stakeholders in the branches and locally.
- Ensure INCO terms and creditor funding is in place that benefit the company.
- Reassess all SLAs and ensure they updated
- Meet regularly with management team and sales to ensure demand planning accuracy.
- Need to ensure the procurement is aligned with the alternative strategy or roadmap and any procurement related queries.
- Ensuring all logistics of stakeholders are known and functioning efficiently
- Responsible for the purchasing and supply management activities for Solar.
- Work closely with key stakeholders in our Corporate Division to develop effective cost reduction strategies and implementation plans.
- Help identify critical business requirements and provide sourcing and procurement services that meet expectations
- Leverage extensive market and supplier knowledge to drive lower TCO.
- Provide insight on how to best develop and leverage Supplier capabilities for the organization.
- Primary point of contact for overall category needs. Responsible for prioritizing demand globally and nationally across the category.
- Negotiate with suppliers during the sourcing review.

- Ensure appropriate QA testing is completed
- Provide assistance to identify qualified QA testing facilities to provide testing services.
- Maintain a neat, clean and organised work area.
- Identify and recommend areas / ways to improve processes.

Qualifications/Experience required:

- Educated to degree level/NQF Level
- **Minimum 5 years’ experience in Solar Procurement**:

- **Preferably a Fellow or Member of The Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS)**:

- Demonstrable experience of leading a purchasing function with a proven track record in strategic purchasing leadership delivering effective purchasing strategies, policies, processes and systems
- Must demonstrate that they have good understanding of best practices with regard to policies
- Knowledge and technical understanding of automotive processes and components and supply chain management

Salary

R 30 000.00 - 40 000.00 depending on experience
