African Energy is looking for a Commodity Specialist to head up the commodity department. To manage the entire Supply Chain Value Delivery Model, procurement of goods and services in line with the Supply Chain Management policies. To develop and deploy commodity management strategies to deliver value through strategic sourcing for designated products. Develop and implement demand and acquisition strategies and annual plans in relation to key purchasing requirements, including vendor search, vendor management, evaluation, negotiations, follow up delivery/performance and post-delivery dispute resolution

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for tactical, non-category managed products.
- Analyze supply markets and demand patterns to inform decisions.
- Negotiate short
- and medium-term commercial agreements.
- Draft and finalize supply and service level agreements.
- Collaborate with Legal to ensure compliance in agreement drafting.
- Ensure procurement aligns with specifications and sourcing strategies.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for contract placement.
- Monitor supplier performance and implement cost-saving initiatives.
- Research and analyse the supply market and supplier capabilities to remain informed of all sourcing strategy / execution relevant insights.
- Run an end-to-end tender process.
- Conduct supplier negotiations.

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Relevant Degree or Diploma/NQF Level 6-7 in Supply Chain Management.
- 5-8 years of experience in industrial, procurement, materials management, or finance.
- Experience in technical or manufacturing environments is a plus.
- Broad Commodity knowledge and Network of possible buyers in the commodity business
- Excellent communication skills
