**Food & Beverage Manager**

Bistro Restaurant within a group of companies in the heart of Sandton has a position available for a Food & Beverage Manager. We are looking for an entrepreneurial individual capable of adapting a Bistro restaurant with potential to grow into a fully-fledged restaurant within year.

**Job Summary**

The successful incumbent must be able to ensure the successful delivery of uncompromising service and a variety of meals, with attention and focus on vegan, healthy meals, whilst leading a team and dealing with the day-to-day running of the restaurant to serve internal and external guests. Select, recruit, appoint and oversee the culinary staff, place orders for culinary items and direct and assist with the overall preparation of the food which is served in the restaurant. The food and beverage manager will need to plan, organise, direct, control, and evaluate the operations.

**Responsibilities**
- Manage all F&B and day-to-day operations within budgeted guidelines and to the highest standards
- Design exceptional, attractive menus, purchase goods and continuously make necessary improvements
- Planning menu items and any specials which the restaurant offers to its patrons.
- Developing and perfecting recipes, taking into consideration dietary requirements.
- Maintain market related cost of sales and manage profitability and expenses of the restaurant.
- Work with the marketing team to build the brand of the Bistro within the Sandton market.
- Develop with the marketing team an attractive customer value proposition to promote sales revenue.
- Identify customers’ needs and respond proactively to all of their concerns
- Establish targets, KPI’s, schedules, policies, and procedures
- Provide a two-way communication and nurture an ownership environment with emphasis in motivation and teamwork
- Comply with all health and safety regulations
- Report on management regarding sales results and productivity
- Ensure that customers are satisfied with food and service.
- Ensuring that all food-handling regulations are abided by and that everyone under his/her charge is aware of these items. Ensuring that safety standards and sanitary requirements are constantly met.

**Requirements and skills**
- Proven food and beverage management experience
- Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software (Pilot), POS)
- Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently
- Mastery in delegating multiple tasks
- Communication and leadership skills
- Up to date with food and beverages trends and best practices
- Ability to manage personnel and meet financial targets
- Guest-oriented and service-minded
- Culinary school diploma or degree in food service management or related field

**Salary**: R25,000.00 - R30,000.00 per month
