**Role Purpose**

The Exchange Control Compliance Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that the business unit and related organisations are compliant with all relevant Exchange Control regulations in South Africa. The role will report to the Head of Compliance and work closely with various stakeholders in Momentum Investments and the Momentum Metropolitan Group to ensure that all necessary controls are in place to mitigate the risk of non-compliance.

**Requirements**:

- A Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Law, or a related field.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in Exchange Control compliance in the financial services industry/ employment at the SARB..
- In-depth knowledge of Exchange Control regulations in South Africa.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- A professional certification in compliance or risk management is preferred.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Develop and assist business to implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Exchange Control regulations on all products and offerings.
- Monitor and assess regulatory developments and changes in Exchange Control requirements and make recommendations to senior management on necessary changes to policies and procedures, identifying opportunities and risks to the business.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure that all transactions comply with Exchange Control regulations, including reviewing documentation, and obtaining necessary approvals.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments of Exchange Control compliance activities to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Exchange Control regulations and provide guidance and training to employees on compliance requirements.
- Identify and report any potential or actual breaches of Exchange Control regulations to senior management.
- Maintain strong relationships with relevant regulatory authorities, including the South African Reserve Bank and the Financial Intelligence Centre, to stay abreast of any regulatory developments or changes.
- Provide regular reports on Exchange Control compliance activities to senior management and the relevant governance forums.
- Ongoing monitoring of compliance (products, offerings, processes).
