Head of Supply Chain

**Job Advert Summary**:
The **Head of Supply Chain**is responsible for leading and optimizing the end-to-end supply chain function, ensuring the efficient procurement, logistics, inventory, and delivery of components and services critical to solar and energy storage project execution. This role plays a strategic part in supporting Solareff’s growth, ensuring supply chain resilience, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with project timelines and quality standards.

**Minimum Requirements**:
**Qualifications & Experience**
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 8-10 years of progressive experience in supply chain roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
- Industry experience in renewable energy, engineering, or construction is strongly preferred.
- Proven experience in international sourcing, import/export regulations, and contract management.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Strategic Supply Chain Leadership**
- To develop and execute the supply chain strategy aligned with company goals and project demands.
- To establish strong supplier networks locally and internationally, especially for solar PV components, inverters, batteries, and BOS (balance of system) equipment.
- Evaluate and mitigate supply chain risks, including price volatility, lead time disruptions, and geopolitical impacts.

**Procurement & Vendor Management**
- Lead procurement planning and supplier negotiations to achieve optimal pricing, quality, and terms.
- Oversee supplier qualification, onboarding, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with B-BBEE and local content requirements where applicable.

**Inventory & Logistics**
- Manage inventory control systems for accurate forecasting, stock levels, and traceability.
- Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, warehousing, customs clearance, and delivery to project sites.
- Improve cost efficiency through optimized logistics and freight strategies.

**Team Leadership & Collaboration**
- Build and manage a high-performing supply chain team.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Project Management, Engineering, Finance teams to align supply with operational needs.
- Provide supply chain insights and reports to the executive team to support decision-making.

**System & Process Optimisation**
- Drive digital transformation and continuous improvement in supply chain operations (e.g., ERP, automation, dashboards).
- Implement and maintain policies, procedures, and KPIs for effective supply chain management.
- Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and sustainability standards across all supply chain activities.
