Recruit, trains, motivates, counsels and monitors the performance of New vehicle sales department
- Directs and schedules the activities of all department employees, ensuring proper staffing at all times
- Forecasts goals and objectives for sales, gross and key expenses on a monthly and annual basis
- Prepares an administers an annual operating budget for the new vehicle sales department
- Develops, implements and monitors a follow up system for new vehicle purchasers

**Position Overview**:
**Specific Role Responsibilities**:
**People Management**:

- Assist individual sales people in setting aggressive yet realistic monthly goals and objectives and provides them with support to meet these goals
- Maintains team work in a customer focused sales environment throughout the sales, delivery and follow up process
- Conducts daily and weekly sales meetings
- Ensures that the New vehicle salespeople understand and follow dealership policies and procedures
- Provides proper product training resources for sales people on a regular and continuous basis
- Develops incentive programs along with dealer and other managers
- Helps sales people close deals when necessary

**Financial / Sales Performance**:

- Maintains daily log that reflects the sales activities in the dealership
- Ensure proper follow up of all potential buyers by developing, implementing and monitoring a prospecting and sales control system
- Works with salespeople on programs that will increase the new car gross profit and F&I penetration
- Establishes and maintains standards for delivery of vehicles to customers
- Directs merchandising and advertising efforts for new vehicle department
- Assist in the development of advertising campaigns and other promotions
- Monitor expenditure to ensure strict adherence to budget
- Negotiate lower and favourable rates from suppliers on an ongoing basis to actively increase supplementary income from second gross potential sales

**Asset Management**:

- Oversee the vehicle valuation process
- Ensure vehicles are prices according to market related guidelines
- Ensure that optimum stock levels are maintained in line with company benchmarks
- Ensure an appropriate stock mix to meet the requirements of the market
- Update sales staff on all matters concerning trading and stock parameters
- Ensure that reconditioning cost and activities are within acceptable limits
- Establish a suitable network for sourcing of appropriate stock, as well as to distribute inappropriate stock
- Maintain a system of internal controls and operating procedures that will protect these assets from theft loss or unnecessary depreciation

**Administration**:

- Assures that the admin office receives on a timely basis all relevant documentation, commission sheets, employment documentation for processing
- Ensure deal files meets the required standard before signing off
- Ensure timeous follow up on all Debtors outstanding
- Ensure Dealer standards according to CSA requirements to be met

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Matric and/or grade 12
- Must have at least 5 year working experience in a sales environment (management position)
- Valid Driver’s License
- Mercedes-Benz Certified Sales Certification will be an added advantage
- Proven track record in leading and managing people
