To ensure that seed is received at the Workstation, cleaned and/or packed down in line with company policies, procedures and quality specifications by utilising the prescribed equipment, and that packed seed is presented for final batch packing and check to weigh.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Unpacking and / or offloading of containers with seed by operating a forklift truck with a valid forklift operator’s license.
- Assist with the unpacking of containers with seed in cases where the operation of a forklift truck is not a requirement.
- Assist with accurate checking and counting of stock received for cleaning and/or down packing.
- Assist with seed sampling for testing purposes (when requested to do so).
- Ensure that written instructions regarding seed cleaning and/or packing is clearly understood.
- Complete relevant fields on the Job Card / Checklists before each seed lot is cleaned and/or packed down.
- Ensure that all procedures as per checklists are followed accurately.
- Operate the equipment (i.e. Seed Packing, Seed Processing and Seed Treatment / Disinfection grading, and Drying machines) used for this purpose, as per instructions.
- Thoroughly clean all equipment before and after each operation, ensuring no traces or residue of seed lots previously worked/packed.
- Ensure that seed is picked, cleaned, and/or packed down according to prescribed norms and standards.
- Assist with quality control on packaging material i.e. labels, bags, cartons, packets, etc. in conjunction with the Manager / Supervisor.
- Ensure that quality procedures and work instructions are adhered to.
- Ensure regular random quality checks during the cleaning, treatment, drying and/or packing process on all cleaned and/or packed products and report any deviations to the Manager / Supervisor.
- Check the calibration and setting of all machines and equipment prior to packing/cleaning.
- Ensure that packing/cleaning is scheduled and prioritized in line with the planning schedule and customer requirements.
- Ensure that all markings, coding, and labeling on packed seed are accurate and in line with quality specifications.
- Ensure that all sealed products are checked for defects.
- Ensure that regular spot checks are carried out during the packing/cleaning process to ensure accuracy.
- Provide on-the-job training as and when required.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Grade 12
- Forklift Operating License (required)
