Senior Associate: Trade and Working Capital

**Job Purpose**
- Key to the role, is the ability to clearly articulate a comprehensive Client Value Proposition (CVP) which includes mitigating risk in Global Trade and optimizing the utilization of the clients Working Capital and thereby generate sustainable economic returns for Nedbank, which contributes to the aggressive targets associated with a high performance sales environment.**Responsibilities**:
- Deliver on aggressive revenue targets though use of expert knowledge in Trade and Working Capital
- Manage an existing client portfolio and identify New to Bank clients required to meet revenue targets.
- Understand clients’ current and future business requirements and take the lead in on boarding New to Bank Trade and Working Capital clients.
- Penetrate the existing clients’ base with new Trade and Working Capital solutions.
- Originate opportunities for domestic Transaction Banking sales, Treasury and other areas within the bank.
- Professional approach to engagements, from preparations for client meetings to timeous follow ups on all deliverables.
- Applies an expert level of knowledge on Global products (Trade and payments), services and systems to improve internal processes.
- Work with internal stakeholders to win transactions - includes activities such as pricing, service level requirements, exchange control, documentation, compliance and credit.
- Proactively identify tasks and processes that need to be implemented to meet clients and internal stakeholder requirements.
- Proactively understand competitor behaviour and market trends and communicate to internal stakeholders.
- Adhere to internal compliance standards and external regulatory requirements for transactions, proposals and documentation.
- Resolve work obstacles by monitoring and managing on a case-by-case basis and early escalation where required.
- Deliver a world class service through others by ensuring a client centric culture through required interventions.
- Identify relevant development needs by assessing own performance and behaviour through formal and informal feedback.
- Drive to execute own planned development by attending learning; seeking coaching or other industry or technical learning events and opportunities.
- Build depth of skills and knowledge in the team by sharing knowledge and insight with team members.
**People Specification**
- Essential Qualifications - NQF Level- Professional Qualifications/Honour’s Degree
- Master’s Degree
- Preferred Qualification- Honours degree in Commerce/ Business/Engineering of Equivalent NQF7 Qualification.- Type of Exposure- Formulating and implementing communication strategies to cascade functional strategies
- Conducting benchmarking exercise to investigate improvement opportunities
- Developing and execute the strategy plan
- Developing a stakeholder management grid for the business
- Executing organisational change
- Developing resource plans to execute functional strategies
- Networking and building relationships
- Developing a client service delivery plan
- Establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with peers / subordinates / managers
- Making effective financial decisions
- Minimum Experience Level- A minimum 8 years experience in Corporate and Investment Banking, preferably within Transactional Banking Sales.- A minimum of 5 years experience in Working Capital Sales with in-depth understanding of Trade and Global products (eg Guarantees/Letters of Credit etc).**Technical / Professional Knowledge**
