Underwriter

Environmental Insurance Company is looking to recruit an Underwriting to execute the underwriting of transport based environmental impairment risks, issuing of new business, endorsements on existing policies, and assistance with renewal reviews or corrective measures - including highlighting policies for risk reviews, administration of policies, risk management administration on an ongoing basis, customer service and quality assurance. They would further be ensuring conditions have been adhered to and administration or any special underwiring conditions.
**Main Responsiblities**:
**Underwriting**
- Ensure adherence to organizational policies, practices, and procedures.
- Deliver market leading underwriting service and product knowledge.
- Issuing of new business in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SoP) - ensuring all administration and data capturing requirements are met.
- Reviewing of renewal preparation, requesting updated information from broker and follow ups on any outstanding risk information
- Ensure compliance with data integrity requirements, underwriting guidelines, mandates and company retention limits.
- Ensure all relevant supporting documentation are issued in line with policy requirements and standard operating procedures.
- Resolving and or escalating underwriting/policy queries.
- Ensuring policy conditions have been adhered to within stipulated time lines
- Deliver customer service and quality.
- Attend to queries and provide regular feedback.
- Ensure adherence to organizational policies, practices and procedures.
- Ensure product and legislative knowledge is always current
**Requirements**:
- Matric
- RE 5
- Minimum FETC in Short Term Insurance NQF 4
- Class of Business in Commercial Lines
- 2 + years’ experience in Commercial Underwriting
- Microsoft Office suite of products
**Advantageous**
- Experience on Grail
- Risk management experience
- Bilingual
- Pollution Impairment/liability experience
- Higher certificate in Short-Term Insurance NQF 5 advantageous

**Salary**
- R15 000 gross monthly basic
- R5 000 Discretionary monthly KPI bonus
**Operational Model**
- Fixed Term Contract
- Location: Umbilo
- Monday to Friday 07h30 - 16h30
- On Site.

Contract length: 1 month
**Salary**: R15,000.00 - R20,000.00 per month
