Medical Aid rate based on principal member only) - To be confirmed - Advert Closing Date - 2/11/2025 - Job Purpose To lecture and contribute to curriculum development in the Department of Horticultural Sciences while providing support to the department in pursuit of its objectives in teaching and learning, work-base placed learning, community engagement and research outputs - Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience Masters in Ornamental Horticulture or equivalent Base qualification in Ornamental Horticulture or equivalent At least two years' relevant working experience of which one year must be in teaching. - Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities - Supervise student projects - Provide appropriate academic and administrative duties in the Department - Participate in curriculum development - Perform student assessment - Participate in the Quality Assurance activities of the Department - Monitor and assess Workplace based learning - Placing of workplace Base Learning students in industry - Develop and maintain linkages with industry and professional bodies - assist with marketing and recruitment activities - Mentor student assistants and tutors - Perform other functions as may be assigned bt the Head of Department - Competencies - Competence in horticultural technologies of ornamental nursery production - Excellent organizational and planning skills - Presentation skills - Adaptability - Continuous learning - Strong learner focus - Communication and Coaching skills - Administrative skills - Proficiency in English - Teamwork - Practical knowledge and experience in the horticultural field - Be able to maintain existing industry partners that the department has with respect to WPBL placements and to develop new placements in industry - General Information Closing Date: 02 November 2025 Enquiries: Ms. Nomaphelo Maki **NB: PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS SYSTEM DOES NOT ALLOW APPLICANTS TO UPLOAD CVs.
