Merchandiser Manager - Mauritius
As the Merchandiser Manager, you will have a sound knowledge of supply chain management on a global basis, with experience of managing a team & the product calendar in an international brand or sports retail environment. You should have experience in working directly with vendors and the ability to drive
performance.
Strong communications skills in a multi-cultural environment internally and externally, willing to travel globally is the key. Knowledge of product costs, production process, critical path and use of PLM or other ERP systems is a must.
You would be leading a team of Senior Merchants and would require excellent analytical, problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Leadership Responsibilities:

- Responsible for driving the Merchandising department forward to deliver the Global Sourcing
Strategy with the GM.
- Build and maintain communication channels with key stakeholders; identify margin
opportunities through direct sourcing.
- Lead your team to manage the end to end critical path for each season, leading cross
- functional colleagues to ensure key milestones are met throughout the supply chain.
- Ensure the team implements Standard Operating Procedures, following best practice to
manage risk in the product cycle from factory visit through to inspection.
- Resolve issues on a day-to-day basis and enhance escalation processes
- Own and ensure the accuracy of Periodic Shipment Reports for the category across the
region.
- Provide a holistic view and insight to manage and improve the overall shipment position of
the departments.
- Accountable for maintaining a robust supply base by reviewing suppliers’ performance to
identify strategic and poor performing suppliers. Ensuring we fulfil our minimum technical and
ethical requirement in poor performing sites and work with our strategic suppliers to
understand new initiatives and raise the standard of our supply base
- Work closely with strategic suppliers by building strong relationships and influence them to
deliver continuous improvement in their performance including cost pricing, new product
development, quality standards, leveraging scale and supply reliability
- Accountable in ensuring the team has adequate resources to efficiently fulfil their objectives,
with adequate systems and processes in place to meet the expectation
- Lead your team to deliver performance against key targets including cost savings, shipments and operating costs against budget as well as a range of operational metrics (OTD, inspection pass rate, customer returns)
- Manage the development of your team’s on both core sourcing and merchandising skills as well as personal development.
Operation
- Manage seasonal calendar - Escalate missed deliverables to General Manager. Be solution orientated /work on remediation plans
- Perform monthly vendor performance review and follow up corresponding actions for
continuous improvement
- Have an analytical and logical mindset to arrange clear plans/reports

2 | MERCHANDISER MANAGER -NEAR EAST
- Prioritise various projects with attention to detail
- Own the critical path - Liaise with cross-functional departments, PD, Materials, Trims and
Vendor base
- Works cross-functionally with the Head Office based team and RO colleagues to deliver divisional goals and objectives
- Liaise with nominated material and trim vendors
- Manage vendor relationships for day-to-day operations in terms of service level agreement and calendar milestones
- Sustain strong partnerships with vendors with the intent of building a long-term business
relationship that aligns with Gymshark quality and value requirements
- WIP: Develop work in progress (WIP) process for all styles across development andproduction.
- Planning: Work closely with teams to develop basic production planning schedule for all styles
- Proactively seek for changes on the operational procedures to deliver great results

- Improved supplier performance metrics in your area (e.g. inspection pass rate, customer
complaints, returns and supply chain compliances)
- Invest time in personal development and formulate a development plan for the team. Work
with individuals to achieve the objectives and career path
