The Big Picture:

Howden MEA Projects is looking for an experienced Senior Planner to support the project management team in executing projects on time, within budget and to specification. To establish the project progress measurement system based on the nature of the project.

What needs to be done?
- Design bar charts to meet specifications and approval of all parties concerned.
- Tracking of progress: Conduct visual progress inspections to verify progress as reported by site staff; discuss with site staff problems, potential problems, risks, trends and plan around obstacles. Escalate issues where applicable. Accordingly update bar charts. Discuss changes, progress and obstacles with clients and contractors. Escalate issues where applicable. Keep the project teams informed of their obligations, urgencies, major incidents, obstacles and progress, etc.) Updating and Reporting progress on Primavera.
- Analyse Progress: Analyse progress, obstacles, changes, risks, trends etc. - to the effect that corrective action can be made pro-actively (where applicable) and provide feedback to Project Manager or escalate to management.
- At all times adhere to procedures, instructions, quality, safety standards and certification requirements.
- SOX Compliance: Adhere to Sarbanes Oxley and AX controls.

What do you need to bring?
- Grade 12
- Diploma in Engineering
- Diploma in Planning or Project Management.
- 7 years’ experience as a Project Planner in an engineering/ project environment
- Proven experience in managing schedules for various projects.
- Primavera & MS Projects experience
- Knowledge and experience in managing of FIDIC, NEC and bespoke contracts.
- Experience in managing tender documents and contractual terms.
- Excellent communication and Interpersonal skills
- Ability to interact at all levels.
