**Digital Copywriter**

**Purpose of the role**

The main role of the Digital Copywriter is to write and manage ad copy for search advertising campaigns. Digital Copywriters also write (but do not manage) ad copy for social media platforms, if requested.

They ensure that ad copy conforms to the editorial guidelines of the relevant platform and format, and that it serves the objectives of, and conforms to, the client brief and/or instructions given by the Media Manager. The Digital Copywriter strives to ensure that ad copy is free of errors, connects with the target audience, and represents our clients in the best possible light.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Two+ years of experience in a copywriting role
- Relevant Tertiary qualification
- Knowledge of Google Marketing Platform specifically Google Ads Editor
- Fluency in spoken and written English
- An appreciation for the subtle shades of meaning in words, and why word choice is critical
- A pedantic approach to spelling, punctuation and grammar
- Basic MS Excel experience required, but the more, the better
- Ability to work with large volumes of data

**Client Focus**
- Contribute towards client retention through delivery of high quality ad copy.
- Thoroughly understand the fundamentals of the client's business and objectives and ensure ad copy harmonises with the client's brand voice and image, in terms of: word usage; tone; spelling, punctuation and capitalisation.
- Provide helpful feedback on ad copy jobs that can be forwarded and/or utilised further up the line by campaign manager and/or account director.
- Ready to adapt should the client's expectations and/or requirements change.
- Timeous response to all client related enquiries, as relayed.
- Continuously seek ways of optimising and improving upon client delivery.

**Quality Focus**
- Neatness and consistency when working with relevant documentation and software. Examples: Podio job status updates, Podio commentary, presentation of proposed ad copy, file naming.
- Exercise high levels of consistency and neatness in the processing of ad copy jobs.
- Utilize the technology available to improve and streamline existing processes. Examples: Excel Macros, Google Ads Scripts.
