- Specialist in Business Intelligence (BI) reporting and front-end report development and data analytics. Due to the position, Business Analysis as well as BW skills are required in addition to all BI related skills. The person will work closely with the Data Analyst and SAP Business Warehouse specialists but needs to be able to develop complex queries for use in the BI development. Advantage will be if the person can model data in the BW environment as well.
- As an integral member of the GBS BI Analytics Delivery team, the Senior Analytics Specialist / Senior BI Front End Developer will work with users in various business functions to identify and help satisfy business intelligence and data analysis needs. He/she will work with various stakeholders across teams (and management levels) within the bank to design and develop relevant front end BI analytical solutions and ensure delivery of these solutions to be available to the business requestor. This includes proper testing of data and taking the developed BI Solution through all phases, till the product is available to the user after it being promoted.
- A thorough understanding of the Central Management Console (CMC) will also be advantageous.
- Strong communication and customer liaison skills are required to liaise with all stakeholders as well as strong analytical skills to translate business requirements. Strong BW data modelling and query building skills to ensure the correct data is available for the required solution/s. SQL query development would also be strongly advantageous.
- BI front end development spans across different environments and BI tools of which the SAP BOBJ tool stack is the most important.
- In-depth knowledge of SAP ERP is also required.**Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for enforcement of SAP BI architectural strategy
- Engaging with organisational architectural forums and enterprise architects regarding BI
- SAP BW Process Chain maintenance and support (Standby)
- Knowledge transfer, Mentoring and developing skills capacity within team with regards to BW queries and data modelling
- Approval and advisory services to external teams implementing changes in landscape
- Research and development on new toolsets
- Internal stakeholder engagement with regards to BI deliverables
- Translate business requirements into technical detail through the formulation of the Functional System Specifications (FSS) that will be used to drive the design, development, configuration and enhancements of the BI reporting/analytical solution
- Business liaison between technical development and business intelligence delivery
- Staying abreast of tools, technologies, and industry developments relevant to the work of the team
- SAP Business Objects dashboard creation (Lumira & Design Studio)
- Development of SAP Business Objects Web Intelligence reports
- Development of SAP Analysis for Office (A4O) reports
- Hana studio query development to be used for the BI Analytical Solution
- Responsible for kick off and measurement of POC's
- User engagement, communication, and presentation to business
- Time management and development estimation
- Liaise and work with the data / business warehouse stakeholders to obtain required data in correct format
- Validate data obtained from the data / business warehouse sources as required for the solution against the data the business currently have as their source
- Test solution internally and compile required testing documents to assist users in formal User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities
- Train end users (change management) where required, beyond the provision of a user guide in order to use the solution optimally, if and when required
- Use proper configuration management for roll-on (implementation) of solution as per company / business area guidelines - knowledge of CMC will be advantageous
- Formulate and adhere to release plan for the solution and per release processes of the team
- Adhere to the relevant change control mechanisms with regards to changes and/or enhancements to finalised and/or implemented solution in order to ensure proper management of changes and having a solution in place

**Essential Qualifications - NQF Level**
- Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
- Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees

- Minimum Batchelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 4+ years’ experience in the development and implementation of enterprise-scale BI reporting solutions
- SAP BI (BOBJ) experience is essential
- SAP BW Query building and modelling the data is essential
- Knowledge of non-SAP BI toolsets such as MicroStrategy, Power BI would be good
