Strategy Analyst

-Introduction

Momentum Metropolitan is looking for a talented and driven individual to support the Group Strategy function. The role involves engagement with wide-ranging stakeholders including business executives and senior management to support group-wide and Business Unit strategy processes end-to-end.

The Strategy Analyst will work closely with the Group Strategist in driving a dynamic and fast-paced approach to strategy design and management; including research and analysis, quarterly strategic reviews and specific insights-driven strategic deep-dives as required.

The role will provide experience across the group and the Strategy Analyst will gain exposure to a variety of sectors/areas across Momentum Metropolitan (e.g., Life, Non-Life, Cell Captives, Banking, ESG/Sustainability, etc.) with the opportunity to work on a range of internal projects of strategic importance across the organisation.
Role Purpose

The Strategy Analyst will work closely with the Group Strategist in driving a dynamic and fast-paced approach to strategy design and management
Requirements

**Strategic research and analysis**
- Maintain an external mindset, including staying on top of market developments, consumer insights and competitor trends to ensure the group’s understanding of the external environment is comprehensive and complete
- Perform market share, market sizing and market growth analysis across a range of sectors and sub-sectors
- Lead (or assist with) specific data-driven strategic deep-drives as required

**Strategic planning**
- Support the group’s bottom-up and top-down strategic planning process
- Analyse industry trends and competitor movements and identify clear implications for the Business Units across shorter
- and longer-term time horizons
- Contribute to business strategy design across multiple perspectives, with a view to illustrate how strategic choices and capabilities culminate in real advantage in market
- Contribute to the development of business strategy execution plans, clearly aligned to strategy design
- Perform work as required in preparation for workshops and strategy sessions; assist to facilitate workshops and strategy sessions as required
- Establish strong relationships and serve the needs of diverse stakeholders across the group

**Quarterly strategic reviews**
- Support the group’s strategy execution monitoring process to produce quarterly strategic reviews
- Engage a wide range of stakeholders to submit quarterly information
- Ensure business areas comply with timelines for quarterly reporting and follow up on outstanding data
- Assess status of initiatives against strategic objectives and financials, analyses trends in delivery and highlights areas of concern for discussion at EXCO
- Operate on the group’s strategic reporting tool (currently Scientrix)
- Assist with wider group strategy reporting requirements (including but not limited to business performance reports and adhoc requests - e.g., Board requirements)
Duties & Responsibilities
- 2-5 years’ work experience in corporate/business strategy or management consulting
- Post-graduate degree in one of the following: finance, engineering, statistics, mathematics, business science
- Insurance industry experience (advantageous)
