**SUMMARY OF POSITION**

The Business Unit Manager will be responsible for managing the projects, operational staff and overseeing their daily tasks.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Managing Operational Staff
- Scheduling jobs and daily tasks for operational teams
- Assist team and project leaders with job related issues
- Discuss team skills and performance with the Branch Manager
- Check the quality of work on site and monitoring work flow to ensure timely completion of jobs
- Discipline staff when required
- Review the performance in terms of quality, workmanship and behaviour of the employees reporting to him/her
- Authorisation of overtime in accordance with the Company policy and project plan
- Oversee the monthly tool checks of all teams
- Responsible for company vehicles and adhering to the company Fleet Policy
- Managing Projects
- Manage projects by doing regular site inspections to determine quality assurance
- Meetings with the Project/Team Leaders and updating project plans on a daily basis
- Establishing a project plan as well as maintain and control all relevant documents
- Schedule and manage all resources required for a job
- Ensure the effectiveness and efficiency in material usage and man hour utilisation
- Attend Project meeting
- Direct the planning and development of telecommunication systems and network design
- Provide expertise in developing most effective strategy to resolve issues
- Responsible for job sign offs
- Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Responsibilities
- Report any deviations that could lead to an accident
- Participate in Safety Training to improve safety standards
- Report incidents and accidents before the end of a shift
- Adhere to the Company's Health and Safety policy and procedure
- Look after your own safety and that of other employees
- Ensure that the SHEQ Management System requirements are met towards customer, internal, ISO, regulatory / legal requirements.
- Manage and perform all internal processes, especially those that affect the quality of the Organization's products.
- Work with Customers, Colleagues and Contractors towards continual improvement of the Management system and report the need for improvement to Management.
- Keep up standards and regulations with respect to Products and Services
- Any other reasonable duties and responsibilities in line with your capabilities and at the request of your Superior

JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar position
- A degree or diploma would be an advantage
- Must have extensive working knowledge of telecommunications
- Strong managerial, leadership and conflict management skills
- Must have strong technical and product knowledge
- Must have a strong understanding of an operations profitability and what effects it
- Must have a valid driver’s licence and own vehicle
- Must be willing to travel and work overtime
- Must have a valid passport
- Must have basic knowledge of Basic Employment Condition Act, Labour Law and Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Must be proficient in MS Office
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Afrikaans

- Must be dressed professionally at all times
- Must conduct him/herself in the appropriate manner and show respect towards the Company, Clients, Suppliers, Contractors and fellow employees
- Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills

- High School (matric) (required)
